School Mosaics
Our school mosaic program is a one week collaborative art experience involving your entire school. Administration, staff, food service, janitorial, aids and parent groups can all join in this beautiful art project.
Together you will learn the process of an ancient artform and create a stunning 30sqft glass mosaic that will serve as a testament to what you can accomplish working together!
How It Works
We begin the process by working in collaboration with the Art Teacher (and school) to develop a design.
We will provide references for mosaic lesson activities for the week leading up to Mosaic Mural week. This will get students ready, excited and in the mosaic mindset.
During Mosaic Mural week, a professional working Mosaicist will be set up in the art room with all materials precut. The Mosaicist will guide students to place tesserae (mosaic pieces) onto the substrates and discuss teamwork during their art class period. Every student will place at least one piece in the mosaic.
The Mosaic Mural will take 5 school days to create. When completed, it will be grouted and finished by PTA/O volunteers, the Art Teacher and the Mosaicist.
Parent Teacher Associations/Orgs or the School Board typically sponsor these mosaic experiences. Bring this amazing opportunity for growth to your district.
